Joella Viscusi, President
Joella Viscusi is the founder and President of Ambient Environmental, Inc. Ambient Environmental, Inc. (Ambient) is a New York State Certified Woman-Owned Business Enterprise providing professional environmental consulting services. Ms. Viscusi possesses twenty three years of consulting, project management, and business management experience.
Ms. Viscusi began her environmental career as the assistant to a very high level industry leader at the infancy of the industry in the 1980’s. In this role Ms. Viscusi was exposed to a myriad of environmental issues and business situations. This experience also enlightened Ms. Viscusi to the evolution of opportunities that exist for women in the business world. At the time, in this industry, very few women were involved in the environmental consulting field and it became apparent that changing this was a goal of hers.
Ms. Viscusi then joined a local environmental firm with a team of very experienced and knowledgeable professionals as an assistant and project coordinator. Despite the title, she worked diligently and ambitiously to expose her self to every possible aspect of the business. Though her title never changed, she took on the role of project manager, consultant, manager, and client advocate. In doing so she built a reputation in the industry of exceptional service and soon had a large following of clientele. Outgrowing the firm she worked for in both professionalism and capability, Ms. Viscusi decided there had to be more she could do with her talents.
In 2006 Joella risked everything she had worked for and struck out on her own. With no assurance that clients or work would come, she established Ambient Environmental Inc. in the basement of her home. Soon the clients came calling, looking for the service and expertise they had become accustomed to. Now, Seven years later, Ambient Environmental Inc. is a well established consulting firm with nearly twenty employees and a professional office in Albany, NY and New York City.
